Supported by NVIDIA, UK artificial intelligence infrastructure company Nscale has reached a valuation of $14.6 billion after completing Series C funding of $2 billion, making it a European unicorn. The round was led by Goldman Sachs and JPMorgan Chase, which will support its vertical integration strategy from energy to computing software and expansion plans, including an IPO possibly this year. The company also appointed former Meta COO Sheryl Sandberg and other well-known figures to its board and will be fully responsible for the “Stargate Norway” project, which aims to deploy 100,000 NVIDIA GPUs by 2026. OpenAI will be one of its first clients.
