Ministry of Foreign Affairs: China has always opposed unilateral sanctions without a basis in international law
On February 25th, Foreign Ministry spokesperson Mao Ning hosted a routine press conference. A reporter asked, “Yesterday, the UK authorities expanded their sanctions list against Russia. What is China’s comment on this?” Mao Ning stated, “China has always opposed unilateral sanctions without a basis in international law and without UN Security Council authorization. We are strongly dissatisfied with the UK’s actions. Regarding the Ukraine crisis, China has been committed to promoting peace talks and strictly controlling the export of dual-use items. Normal exchanges and cooperation between China and Russia should not be disturbed or affected. China will take necessary measures to firmly safeguard its legitimate rights and interests.” (CCTV News)
