On March 1, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps of Iran announced that the “most intense offensive action in history” by Iran’s armed forces is about to begin, targeting Israel and US-related bases. Additionally, CBS News reported on February 28, citing two anonymous US officials, that approximately 40 Iranian officials, including Iran’s Minister of Defense Aziz Nasirzadeh, have died in attacks against Iran by the US and Israel. It is believed that these officials also include IRGC Commander-in-Chief Mohammad Pakpour. It is currently unclear whether they were attacked at the same location or multiple sites.
