According to official statements from the National Seismological Institute of Mexico, another seismic event has been recorded, significantly impacting the safety conditions in the region.

Second tremor within days in Guerrero

On January 2nd at 9:37 AM local time, an earthquake with a magnitude of 5.0 was recorded in Guerrero. The epicenter was located at a depth of 10 kilometers, indicating activity in the upper layers of the Earth’s crust. This was not the first tremor in this location – earlier, a stronger quake with a magnitude of 6.5 was registered in the coastal area of Guerrero, also at a depth of 10 kilometers. This series of events confirms the high seismic variability of this area in Mexico.
