Beijing Municipal Medical Insurance Bureau, Beijing Financial Regulatory Bureau, and other departments jointly issued the “Several Measures to Support the High-Quality Development of Commercial Health Insurance.” Among them, it is proposed to study relaxing the scope of use for individual medical insurance accounts. It is also proposed to allow insured employees to use funds from their personal medical insurance accounts to purchase qualifying commercial health insurance products for themselves and their family members. Employers are encouraged to utilize preferential policies such as supplementary medical insurance (the amount withdrawn for supplementary medical insurance premiums can be deducted from costs within 4% of the total annual wages of employees in the same employer) to purchase commercial supplementary medical insurance.
