Wu said that Vitalik stated AI is significantly accelerating the Ethereum development process. He mentioned that some developers built an Ethereum client prototype targeting the 2030+ roadmap within two weeks using agentic-coding (about 700,000 lines of code, 65 roadmap items, capable of syncing with the mainnet). Vitalik pointed out that AI can greatly improve coding efficiency, and some of these efficiency gains should be allocated to security enhancements, including generating more test cases, formal verification, and cross-validation of multiple implementations. He believes that the Ethereum roadmap may be completed at a faster pace in the future with higher security standards, but in the short term, extensive debugging and validation are still required.
