The production and export volumes of apples, pears, and peaches rank among the top in the country, demonstrating that Yuncheng has a solid foundation as a major fruit production and export base in China.
Data shows that in 2025, the national apple production was 34.2344 million tons. Our city produced 2.8 million tons of apples, accounting for 8.19% of the national total. The country exported 962,000 tons of apples, with our city exporting 126,000 tons, making up 13.1% of the national apple exports. In 2025, our city produced 967,300 tons of pears, accounting for 4.61% of the national total; pear exports reached 3,900 tons, representing 5.52% of the national exports. Our peach production was 2.18 million tons, accounting for 12.85% of the national total; peach exports totaled 25,000 tons, making up 28.31% of the country’s peach exports.
In 2025, our city exported a total of 220,000 tons of fresh fruit, including apples, pears, peaches, persimmons, grapes, plums, jujubes, apricots, kiwifruit, hawthorn, melons, watermelons, strawberries, and other 13 varieties. Among these, apples, pears, and peaches accounted for over 85% of all fruit exports, becoming the main driving force behind our city’s fruit export growth.
Yuncheng is known as the “Northern China’s Hundred Fruit Garden,” with apple, pear, and peach exports already becoming pillars of the local agricultural economy. In recent years, our city has adhered to the high-quality development of the fruit industry, continuously improving varieties, quality, branding, and export markets. This has promoted the industry from a “large-volume producer” to a “quality and export-driven city,” increasing farmers’ income, boosting industry efficiency, and injecting strong momentum into rural revitalization.
