This newspaper report from Beijing on February 26th, by reporter Ding Yiting, states: Since its commissioning in 1997, the Shaan-Jing pipeline system has transported a total of over 800 billion cubic meters of natural gas, equivalent to replacing approximately 1.07 billion tons of standard coal, and reducing carbon dioxide emissions by about 1.17 billion tons.
The Shaan-Jing pipeline system is an important part of the “National Grid” for natural gas, mainly including Lines 1, 2, 3, and 4, with a total length of 5,599 kilometers. Its service area covers over 70 cities across Beijing, Tianjin, Hebei, Shaanxi, Shanxi, and other provinces, serving thousands of large and medium-sized enterprises.
According to reports, the Shaan-Jing pipeline system has an average daily gas transmission volume of about 200 million cubic meters, ensuring over 95% of Beijing’s natural gas needs.
