He Xiaopeng hopes that XPeng can take the lead in China to seize the “DeepSeek” moment for autonomous driving. He believes XPeng is at a historic turning point — 2026 — where physical AI and globalization must be fully realized.

The letter mentions that over the past month, He Xiaopeng and the XPeng team have continued internal testing and optimization of XPeng’s “Second Generation VLA,” which He Xiaopeng considers the “first version” for XPeng’s full L4 autonomous driving era. He describes its performance as “stunning” and “emerging,” and announces that the public will be the first customer to adopt XPeng’s second-generation VLA autonomous driving solution.

Additionally, 2026 will be an unprecedented product year for XPeng. The company will no longer rely on just one good vehicle but will use a “product matrix” to compete in every core niche market. In the first quarter, XPeng will launch three super-range extension products, fully implementing the “one car, dual energy” strategy.

It is understood that the first product equipped with XPeng’s super-range extension technology, the XPeng X9, was launched on November 20, 2025. Its sales in December 2025 and January 2026 were 5,424 and 4,219 units, respectively.
