The U.S. demands China participate in the trilateral nuclear disarmament talks with China and Russia. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs: Unfair, unreasonable, and also unfeasible.
On February 27, Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Mao Ning hosted a routine press conference. A reporter asked about the U.S. request for China to participate in the trilateral nuclear disarmament talks among China, the U.S., and Russia.
Mao Ning stated that China has repeatedly clarified its position on this issue. As a country with a large nuclear arsenal, the United States should genuinely fulfill its special priority responsibility for nuclear disarmament, which is a common consensus of the international community.
China’s nuclear capabilities are completely different in scale from those of the U.S. and Russia. At this stage, demanding China’s participation in the so-called “China-U.S.-Russia trilateral nuclear disarmament talks” is unfair, unreasonable, and unfeasible.
