Reuters Finance APP learns that CXO concept stocks led the gains, with WuXi AppTec (02268) up 7.97%, trading at HKD 63; WuXi Biologics (02269) up 4.7%, trading at HKD 40.08; WuXi KANGDE (02359) up 2.28%, trading at HKD 19.7; and Kanglong Chemical (03759) up 2.28%, trading at HKD 19.7.

Lyon published a research report stating that as AI technology continues to develop, investors’ recent focus is shifting from AI empowering industries to AI replacing middlemen. It is expected that AI will have a clearer positive impact on integrated contract research, development, and manufacturing organizations (CRDMO), while the internal adoption of AI by pharmaceutical companies may have mixed effects on specialized contract research organizations (CRO). Currently, the firm favors contract manufacturing organizations (CDMO), expecting that with better capacity locking ability and longer-term projects, profitability visibility will continue to outperform CROs.

The bank also pointed out that the sector’s decline on Thursday was not driven by fundamentals but more likely due to position adjustments and capital flows. The current correction is considered a technical/short-term fluctuation rather than a sign of demand or execution deterioration. In a market window lacking catalysts, industry leaders may still experience overselling, creating more attractive entry points for investors with a 3 to 12-month investment horizon.
