CEX establishes an independent advisory board for quantum computing and blockchain to address future quantum threats
On January 22, CEX announced the establishment of an independent advisory committee on quantum computing and blockchain to address future quantum threats. The committee brings together world-renowned experts with the goal of assessing the impact of quantum computing on the blockchain ecosystem and providing clear, independent guidance to the broader community. The committee will publish a position paper on quantum risks, offering defense recommendations for developers and institutions, and providing real-time analysis of technological breakthroughs. CEX stated that this committee is part of its post-quantum security roadmap, which also includes updates to Bitcoin address handling, internal key management systems, and the promotion of post-quantum signature schemes such as ML-DSA within multi-party computation (MPC) systems. The committee is expected to release its first position paper on quantum risk assessment and resilience roadmap early next year. Members include Scott Aaronson, Director of the Quantum Information Center at the University of Texas at Austin; Dan Boneh, Co-Director of the Stanford Blockchain Research Center; Justin Drake, researcher at the Ethereum Foundation; Sreeram Kannan, founder of EigenLayer; Yehuda Lindell, CEX cryptography director; and Dahlia Malkhi, distributed systems expert at the University of California, Santa Barbara (UCSB).
