Nasdaq has submitted an application to the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) requesting the immediate removal of position and exercise restrictions on 25,000 Bitcoin and Ethereum ETF option contracts, including products from companies such as BlackRock, Fidelity, and Grayscale. Nasdaq stated that this move aims to treat cryptocurrencies like other qualified options, thereby avoiding unfair discrimination. Despite recent outflows, market demand remains strong. BlackRock's IBIT options rank ninth in open interest among U.S. options, holding over 7.7 million active contracts.
