When I first entered the space, I didn't understand the concept of cross-chain bridges. It wasn't until later that I realized—different public chains simply can't transfer assets directly, even if they are EVM-compatible chains with the same address format, it's pointless.

In recent years, the rise of exchanges has changed everything. People have gradually gotten used to transferring assets across chains directly through exchanges. It's indeed convenient, but fundamentally it's still a centralized solution.

The real issue is: the ultimate goal of Web3 is decentralization, and centralized cross-chain solutions are destined to be transitional products. Long-term ecosystem development will inevitably require truly decentralized cross-chain bridges.

Interestingly, a leading wallet has been quietly working in this area for years. From continuous optimization of underlying technology to iterative upgrades in user experience, the progress over the past year clearly shows sincerity. Cross-chain transfers are becoming smoother, and interaction costs are gradually decreasing. The improvement of ecosystem infrastructure will ultimately drive the entire industry into a new stage.

I have truly experienced pitfalls early on. At one point, I thought EVM compatibility would allow seamless cross-chain transfers, but in the end, I still had to go through exchanges, which was quite frustrating. Honestly, the centralized cross-chain approach is just a band-aid solution; it doesn't address the root problem. Sooner or later, we have to move towards decentralization. That wallet is definitely causing some issues. Over the past year, the user experience has improved significantly. Without hype or criticism, it's clear they're investing real money into it. Ultimately, decentralization is the only way out; there's no alternative. Actually, cross-chain transactions aren't as expensive now. I used to swap directly on exchanges, but now I'm considering using bridges. Who will ultimately survive in this infrastructure game? That's really hard to predict.

That's right, the cross-chain system used by exchanges should have been phased out long ago, as they charge ridiculously high fees.

Honestly, the cross-chain approach used by exchanges is already tired. It's basically handing over the private keys. Who really cares about decentralization?

I'm tired of centralized exchanges; I'm just waiting for a truly decentralized cross-chain solution.
