As the UAE strengthens regulations on stablecoins and cryptocurrencies, stablecoin issuer Circle has received a financial services license from the Abu Dhabi Global Market (ADGM).

With the financial services license granted by the ADGM Financial Services Regulatory Authority, Circle can now operate as a money services provider within the international financial center in Abu Dhabi. Along with this, Saeeda Jaffar (Saeeda Jaffar) has been appointed as head of Middle East and Africa to strengthen regional strategy and partnerships.

Circle co-founder and CEO Jeremy Allaire (Jeremy Allaire) stated, “This regulatory framework sets a high standard in terms of transparency, risk management, and consumer protection,” emphasizing, “Such regulations are essential for reliable stablecoins to support large-scale payment and financial systems.”

Recently, ADGM also approved regulatory licenses for major stablecoin companies such as Tether (USDT) and Ripple USD.

The world’s largest cryptocurrency exchange has also obtained exchange, clearinghouse, and broker-dealer service licenses from the Abu Dhabi financial authorities.
