🔥 Day 8 Hot Topic: XRP ETF Goes Live
REX-Osprey XRP ETF (XRPR) to Launch This Week! XRPR will be the first spot ETF tracking the performance of the world’s third-largest cryptocurrency, XRP, launched by REX-Osprey (also the team behind SSK). According to Bloomberg Senior ETF Analyst Eric Balchunas,
Recently, the U.S. Congress held a highly followed meeting focusing on the legislative proposal to incorporate Bitcoin into the national strategic reserves. Several heavyweight figures attended the meeting, including Senator Ted Cruz, Marsha Blackburn, and MicroStrategy founder Michael Saylor.
The core topic of the meeting is the "Bitcoin Bill" reintroduced by Senator Cynthia Lummis in March this year. The main goal of the bill is to officially incorporate Bitcoin into the U.S. national strategic reserve asset system, and it proposes an ambitious plan: the government should acquire 1 million Bitcoins within the next 5 years.
Hailey Miller, the policy director of Digital Power Network, stated after the meeting that the parties involved reached a preliminary consensus on the necessity of establishing a strategic Bitcoin reserve. They plan to incorporate this proposal into a broader policy framework in order to gain wider support.
However, despite the considerable support this proposal has received within the cryptocurrency community, it still faces significant controversy in the broader political and economic spheres. Lummis herself admitted that convincing other colleagues in Congress to support this proposal may take quite a long time.
This conference reflects that as the status of digital assets in the global economy continues to rise, the U.S. government is seriously considering how to maintain its leading position in this emerging field. However, balancing innovation with risk and finding a balance between the traditional financial system and the emerging digital economy remains a significant challenge for policymakers.
As the discussion deepens, whether Bitcoin can truly become a strategic reserve asset for the United States and how this will impact the global financial landscape are worth our continued follow.
