Gate Charity and SEAD Jambi Host Event to Empower Local Communities

Just one year ago, Gate Charity announced its first-ever charitable initiative. What followed was dozens more philanthropic endeavours impacting every corner of the globe. Along this journey, Gate Charity forged partnerships with charities and NGOs from Brazil to Turkey, Japan to Indonesia, and just about everywhere in between.

On December 28th, Gate Charity teamed up with SEAD Jambi, one of its closest partners, to share their individual and collective milestones and hear from over 20+ community representatives. Titled “#GateCharityWrapped2023”, the event aimed to inspire, unite, and empower local communities. Discussions centred around topics on indigenous communities, environmental conservation, education, and various other social issues.

The event started with a presentation from Gate Charity, focusing on the organization’s journey and its work in helping underserved communities around Jambi, Indonesia. Aside from its many philanthropic initiatives abroad, Gate Charity has worked with SEAD Jambi on several efforts to uplift Anak Dalam indigenous communities out of poverty.

Later, attendees had a chance to introduce their communities, ensuring their people’s stories, struggles, and triumphs were heard and understood.

SEAD Jambi’s presentation followed, showcasing how the organization stands up for the Anak Dalam, empowering their communities to advance their indigenous rights, living conditions, socio-economic status, and representation.

Both organizations also shared how cooperation has led to a tangible and meaningful impact in the region, enhancing education and living standards for the most underserved community members, including youth and those with disabilities.

A question and answer session was held to conclude the event, where community leaders and members could converse with the organizations and other community members.

Gate Charity and SEAD Jambi’s collaboration has significantly impacted the lives of underserved communities in Jambi, Indonesia. This event provided a platform for community members to share their stories and struggles while highlighting ongoing efforts to uplift indigenous communities and address social issues.
