If you’re only just starting to get to grips with trading, sooner or later you’ll come across the question: what is твх in trading and why is it so important? In fact, this is one of the most basic, yet critically important, concepts.

ТВХ is simply your entry point into a position—that is, the price at which you open the trade. It sounds simple, but the entire trader’s strategy is built around this moment. When you decide to buy an asset (лонг), expecting to profit from a rise in price, you choose a specific entry price. Or if you go short—sell in order to buy back later at a lower price and profit from a decline—your ТВХ again determines the entire logic of the trade.

But one entry point isn’t enough. The entire setup is built around it—a working scenario for how the price moves. This scenario includes not only the ТВХ itself, but also the stop-loss (offset order), which will close your position if the price moves in the opposite direction and you start losing money(, and the take-profit )order( to lock in profits when the market moves in the desired direction).

Many beginners underestimate the importance of choosing the right entry point. They see a nice signal on the chart and immediately jump into the trade, not realizing that the market often sets traps—false signals, when it looks like the asset is about to rise or fall, but then unexpectedly reverses direction.

To avoid getting caught in such traps, experienced traders analyze multiple timeframes at the same time—they look at the lower timeframe (where small fluctuations are visible) and at the higher timeframe (where the overall trend picture is visible). This helps you find a more reliable ТВХ.

Another point is correction. Even if you’ve correctly identified the trend and entered a position, the price won’t move straight in the direction you need. It will make pullbacks and move in the opposite direction relative to the main trend. This is normal, and a good trader takes this into account when planning their setup.

So, the answer to what is твх in trading is not just the opening price of a trade. It’s the foundation on which your entire trading strategy, risk management, and potential profit are built. Whether your stop will be small and thus the risk will be controlled or big, and where you’ll set your take-profit—depends on choosing the right ТВХ. That’s why, before opening a position, always think through your entry point carefully.
