A very serious story is unfolding involving João Carlos Mansur and the Brazilian financial market. The man is the founder of Reag Investments, which once managed over R$ 341 billion in assets, but is now at the center of serious investigations into organized crime and links to the PCC.

Mansur has a deposition scheduled for the Organized Crime CPI on March 11, but is expected to remain silent according to the Supreme Court's decision. The businessman has over 35 years of experience in the financial sector and holds a bachelor's degree in accounting. He has structured more than 200 investment funds throughout his career.

Reag was founded in 2012 and grew rapidly in the wealth management market. Mansur served as chairman of the board until October 2025, when he stepped down as the company became the target of investigations. He is also the founder of Ciabrasf and has worked at major companies such as PricewaterhouseCoopers, Monsanto, and GetNinjas. He even had a stint at Trump Realty Brazil, the real estate project company with the Trump brand.

But things got complicated in 2025. João Carlos Mansur was targeted by Operation Carbono Oculto, which investigates fraud and money laundering in the fuel sector involving the PCC. Reag also appears in investigations related to Banco Master. According to the Central Bank, funds from Reag Trust structured irregular operations between July 2023 and July 2024. It also became a target of Operation Compliance Zero, which investigates the issuance of fake securities. Banco Master was liquidated by the Central Bank in January 2026.

What’s interesting is that Mansur isn’t only involved in the financial market. He also has influence in football. He was a counselor at Palmeiras and was the most voted candidate for the board in 2024 with 168 votes. He participated in negotiations regarding Allianz Parque. Between December 2024 and October 2025, he chaired the board of Revee, a company developing stadiums. Reag Capital Holding also managed a fund related to Neo Química Arena, home of Corinthians.

This case shows how deep the connections between finance, football, and organized crime can be in Brazil. João Carlos Mansur’s trajectory is a clear example of this.
