Breaking in the Middle East! Global aluminum giants under attack! Iran issues a strong statement!
On the 29th, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps of Iran issued a statement saying that the Revolutionary Guard effectively struck aluminum plants in the UAE and Bahrain associated with the United States using missiles and drones.
The statement mentioned that these two aluminum plants are related to the U.S. military and aerospace industries, specifically the Emirates Global Aluminum plant and the Bahrain Aluminum plant. The statement also indicated that Iran’s response to enemy threats will no longer be limited to retaliatory strikes but will deliver “more lethal blows” to the enemy’s military and economic systems.
Late Saturday night Beijing time, Emirates Global Aluminum (EGA) announced that earlier that day, its Tawiilah production facility in the Khalifa Economic Zone in Abu Dhabi was attacked by Iranian missiles and drones, resulting in severe damage.
Emirates Global Aluminum is one of the largest aluminum producers in the Middle East and an important supplier in the global market. The Middle East accounts for about 9% of the global aluminum market share (8% without Iran). Emirates Global Aluminum’s aluminum production capacity directly accounts for 4% of the global capacity: the company’s website states that for every 25 tons of aluminum produced globally, 1 ton comes from Emirates Global Aluminum.
Emirates Global Aluminum stated that several employees were injured in the attack, but all injured personnel are in stable condition. An assessment of the damage to the facilities is still ongoing.
