Costco is opening its first standalone gas station in Mission Viejo, California, by the end of June, aiming to expand its fuel offerings. While gas has lower margins, Costco uses it to drive traffic to its stores. In Massachusetts, only four of the seven Costco warehouses currently have gas stations, with updated pricing available on their specific webpages, and there’s no immediate plan for a standalone station in the state.
