Techub News reports that according to Russia's Kommersant, Russian President Vladimir Putin has signed a new law amending the Criminal Code, recognizing cryptocurrencies as intangible property and officially granting courts the authority to confiscate cryptocurrencies in criminal investigations. Elena Ardabyeva, Deputy Minister of Justice of Russia, stated that the law incorporates existing practices of digital asset confiscation into the legal framework and provides a legal basis for cooperation with overseas cryptocurrency exchanges. When police or prosecutors request confiscation, they must specify details such as the type of tokens, quantity, and wallet addresses.
