Twitter's move is really ruthless. Third-party service providers that relied on the Twitter API are going to have a tough time, as the entire ecosystem chain has been forcibly cut off.

Honestly, this move is quite interesting—rather than supporting others, it's better to take a piece of the cake for oneself. Twitter wants to directly handle these services, eliminating middlemen's profit margins. For startups, it's a blow; for Twitter itself, is this strategic contraction or a move to find new opportunities?

The industry is speculating whether this is to optimize cost structure or to lay out new monetization channels. Whatever the case, such a large-scale ecosystem adjustment will inevitably lead to a reshuffle—those who can adapt to the new rules will survive.

Selling APIs is indeed a lucrative business. But cutting off the third-party ecosystem directly is a bit harsh. Startups are really tough, but then again, who asked you to rely entirely on other platforms? Middlemen, get lost. Twitter is eating its own cake, logically there's nothing wrong with that. The ecosystem is undergoing a major reshuffle; only the fittest will survive. This is probably the fate of Web3. The days of relying on APIs are over; it's time to think about self-rescue. Honestly, it's still a money issue. There are no eternal friends, only eternal interests. I don't know if this counts as killing the chicken to get the egg, but I just can't see through Elon’s moves.

Ecosystem cuts, and many projects are gone—this is Web3. If you ask me, Elon just wants to focus on his own interests; the era of others benefiting from his success is over. When the API is shut down, those small teams relying on API income are really suffering.

The ecosystem has collapsed, and small businesses are suffering heavy losses. Musk's move is truly ruthless. When the API is shut down, it directly pulls the plug—typical "I will do it" logic. It's satisfying but also too brutal. Third parties should think about how to survive; they can't compete with big companies. Cost optimization or new monetization? They want both, anyway, the ecosystem chain needs to be reorganized. This is the time when Web3 should play a role; decentralization is the savior you can't miss. Basically, Musk is hungry and directly snatched the business from small vendors—nothing fancy about it. Survivors will thrive; this reshuffle will see who has the strongest technology.
