There is a clear logic: you can build centralized solutions on top of a decentralized underlying network, but the reverse is not possible—you cannot achieve true decentralization on centralized infrastructure.

Ethereum, as the currently only programmable L1 blockchain that maximizes decentralization, provides this flexibility. Users and project teams can fully choose their level of centralization, from completely decentralized to relatively centralized solutions, all on this chain. That is why collaborations like Salad Chefs and Golem are particularly meaningful—they can unlock more possibilities on such infrastructure.

Damn, this logic is indeed solid. You can't turn things around on centralized infrastructure; it's just a dead end.

I agree with this logic; the underlying limit is well-founded. However, calling ETH the "only" programmable L1 is a bit absolute, as Solana, Cardano, and other projects are also competing... But to be fair, ETH's ecosystem maturity is indeed the most resilient.

This logic has no problem at all; decentralization at the core is fundamental. Whatever you want to build on top is up to you. Exactly, adding anything on top of centralized garbage is pointless. ETH is indeed unmatched in this regard; what can other public chains compare to? But what exactly are Golem and Salad collaborating on? Are there any details? Decentralized infrastructure = infinite possibilities. This is what Web3 should look like. Centralized chains want to turn things around, they must first learn to self-criticize. The underlying layer determines the upper layer—that's the first principle, everyone.

This logic makes perfect sense; true foundation lies in bottom-up decentralization. Centralized infrastructure can never save the dream of decentralization; reverse operations are simply impossible. Ethereum's flexibility is indeed attractive, allowing you to choose your level of centralization. Now that's true freedom. Wait, can Salad Chefs and Golem really unlock any possibilities? Or are they just new marketing gimmicks? Bottom-up decentralization > all centralized solutions; this order must never be reversed.

ngl this hits different... you're describing the psychological foundation layer of web3, aren't you? decentralization as the base case is basically saying you need healthy attachment patterns before you can build anything real on top.
