How Market Maker Arbitrage Works

In trading markets, profit from the bid-ask spread by market makers is well known. They hold the dominance over liquidity, retail traders chase high and sell low, often resulting in being countered and exploited. The underlying logic is simple—advantage in information asymmetry and execution speed allows large players to always be one step ahead of scattered investors.

Why the Altcoin Season Hasn't Arrived Yet

Bitcoin and Ethereum's market influence is strong, but the performance of altcoins remains relatively dull. The main reason is the uneven distribution of overall market liquidity, with large funds favoring top-tier coins, while small-cap tokens lack sufficient buy support. Coupled with regulatory uncertainties, investors are more cautious, and the conditions for an altcoin season are far from being ripe.

The Practicality of U-Card Payments

The widespread use of stablecoins like USDT, USDC, etc., makes cross-border payments and transaction settlements more convenient. Whether in DEX trading or on-chain transfers, settling with stablecoins avoids the risks associated with price volatility, which is obviously practical for active traders and merchants.

How Many True Market Participants Are There

Behind the seemingly lively on-chain data, the actual number of active traders is much smaller than expected. Many addresses are dormant, and the core players who continuously participate in trading constitute a very small proportion. This also explains why some coin prices fluctuate so violently—market depth is insufficient, making it easy for a few large players to dominate.

Basically, it's the big players harvesting the little guys. When will we retail investors be able to turn things around?

Retail investors are still chasing gains and selling off at lows, while big players have already finished eating.
