Those who frequently follow cryptocurrency project news may notice that some projects go from inception to token launch at an astonishing speed. However, there is a different category of projects whose pace is noticeably different — for example, Dusk, which has a development trajectory that seems to tell a story of "rooted growth."
Looking at the timeline makes it clear: launching the public testnet in February 2022, followed by the incentive testnet in November of the same year, and then releasing the permanent testnet Nocturne in the first quarter of 2024. This over-two-year polishing period is quite rare in today’s industry pace. Most projects are eager to go live on the mainnet as soon as possible, but instead, they repeatedly iterate during the testing phase and address issues one by one, which can seem a bit "out of sync" with current trends.
What’s the result? When the mainnet officially launched in early 2025, the technical operation was quite stable. It’s like thorough preparation eliminated potential risks for subsequent stable operation. The actions after launch are also interesting — instead of blindly expanding the ecosystem, they continue to refine core features and gradually advance institutional collaborations. This approach directly avoids many pitfalls that projects often fall into due to rushing: frequent technical vulnerabilities, uneven ecosystem development, and fragmented user experience.
From a broader perspective, the true implementation of blockchain applications has never been a speed contest but a test of stability and sustainability. A project that is willing to spend time on infrastructure and ecosystem protocols actually demonstrates a serious attitude toward long-term development. Investors and the community can also sense this difference — those seemingly "slow" decisions often represent stronger execution capability and clearer development logic. Truly valuable things don’t need to prove themselves by running fast.
