How many outlets are actually questioning whether Powell bears responsibility here? We tend to assume central bankers operate above reproach—almost like it's impossible for them to make mistakes. But shouldn't we challenge that reflexive shield? Is it really presumption of innocence, or just institutional immunity?

To be honest, the game of "we can't trust any of them" that central bankers are playing should have been exposed long ago, but the media still continues to uphold this illusion... Powell also has to be responsible for his decisions.

No one really dares to speak up about Powell's issue, the central bank is like some kind of totem... Questioning them is equal to challenging the entire system?

Powell really deserves the blame this time; the media is all hyping it up.

Should Powell take the blame? Anyway, no one dares to ask, probably afraid of violating the "central bank persona."

ngl the "central bankers are infallible" narrative is such a convenient fiction... arguably we've built some pretty perverse incentive structures around elevating technocrats beyond accountability. path dependency is wild that way

How did this guy Powell become a god? Even with critical decision errors, he can walk away unscathed. The institutional design is truly brilliant.
