National Bank launches trademark application for Korean Won Stable Coin, laying out the banking sector's encryption field in South Korea

【ChainNews】According to PANews, South Korea’s major commercial bank, KB Kookmin Bank, has initiated the process of obtaining trademark rights related to Stable Coin. This is the first such move by a traditional bank in South Korea. Previously, KakaoBank, a digital bank under the communication giant Kakao, took similar actions, having already submitted trademark applications for names such as BKRW, KRWB, KKBKRW, and KRWKKB. The trademarks that KB Kookmin Bank intends to apply for include combinations of “KB” and the Korean won symbol “KRW”, such as KBKRW, KRWKB, KBST, and KRWST.

Earlier today, it was reported that eight major banks in South Korea are preparing to establish a joint venture to issue KRW Stable Coin.
