The Federal Reserve (FED) policymaker Daly: May cut interest rates in the fall, unwilling to wait for the fundamentals to be fully addressed before taking action.

[Block Rhythm] On June 21, Mary Daly, President of the Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco, a voting member of the FOMC in 2027, stated, “On the issue of rate cuts, we cannot wait until all the fundamental conditions are met before taking action. Personally, having more information might lead to a rate cut in the fall. I do not want the U.S. labor market to transition from soft performance to weak performance. So far, the U.S. economy and FOMC monetary policy are in good shape.”
