Meta's attempt to poach OpenAI talents with a billion yuan ended in failure, Altman stated that there is still a gap in innovation and culture.

PANews reported on June 18 that according to Bloomberg, OpenAI CEO Sam Altman said in a podcast that Meta offers up to $100 million in signing bonuses and higher annual salaries for recruiting its employees, but “no core employees have yet accepted the invitation.” Meta is building a “supersmart” team and has invested $14.3 billion in Scale AI, appointing its CEO Alexandr Wang to join the team. Altman pointed out that although Meta has ambitions, there is still a gap between Meta and OpenAI in terms of innovation and culture.
