Arthur Hayes has suggested that the flight of foreign capital from the U.S. in global financial markets and the massive depreciation of U.S. bonds are the key catalysts that will push Bitcoin’s (BTC) price to $1 million by 2028.**

One of the leading names in the cryptocurrency markets and the CIO of the Maelstrom investment company, Arthur Hayes, shared his investment strategy and expectations for Bitcoin. Hayes stated that he reduced his risks and moved to cash in January, and re-entered the market from the end of March to the beginning of April. He particularly emphasized that he took maximum positions in cryptocurrencies during the week of the major crash in financial markets, referred to as “Liberation Day.”

According to Hayes, as a result of the Trump administration’s tendency to opt for easy solutions instead of harsh measures in foreign trade, foreign capital will gradually then quickly withdraw from U.S. stock, bond, and real estate markets. This situation will lead to a depreciation of the U.S. dollar against other major economies.

US Treasury bonds are depreciating

Hayes stated that the biggest problem facing U.S. Treasury Secretary Bessent is how to finance this massive debt burden if foreign investors decide to abandon buying bonds and switch to a selling position. He expressed that the solution is to “print money.” He pointed out that countries with excess supply could protect their assets by turning to gold and Bitcoin at this point.

Hayes stated that the true value of U.S. bonds has rapidly declined, particularly after the 2008 Global Financial Crisis, and that this decline peaked in the post-pandemic period. Hayes indicated that the Trump administration would pursue policies that would devalue bonds against gold and Bitcoin to revive the economy, predicting that inflation would inevitably rise.

According to Arthur Hayes’ analyses, the rise of gold and Bitcoin prices will be one of the most important developments that investors need to pay attention to in the upcoming period.
