CoinWorld News reports that on April 16 (UTC+8), BNB Chain announced it will implement the Osaka/Mendel hard fork upgrade at 10:30 on April 28, 2026. This upgrade includes 9 BEP proposals, of which 6 adopt Ethereum EIPs, and introduces 2 BNB Chain-specific optimizations. The upgrade focuses on achieving better execution, more stable performance, and faster finality to address real-world usage scenarios, including limiting the maximum block size, optimizing the gas fee accounting mechanism, improving fast finality (Fast Finality) with a memory voting pool, and adding the CLZ opcode and the eth_config JSON-RPC method.
