Reporters learned today (the 18th) that the mandatory national standard 《Energy Efficiency Limit Values and Energy Efficiency Grades for Indoor Lighting LED Products》 has been officially released, and will come into effect on September 1, 2027. The newly revised mandatory national standard for energy efficiency of indoor lighting products mainly updates and upgrades in three areas: First, it significantly expands the scope of product coverage. It incorporates small-beam-angle LED downlights (commonly known as spotlights), LED high-bay lights, replaceable bi-ended LED lamps, and types of LED indoor lighting products with dimming, color tuning, and other additional functions into the energy efficiency standard framework. This not only focuses on energy saving for basic lighting products, but also imposes constraints on the energy efficiency of emerging hot products such as smart lighting, thereby improving the basis for energy-efficiency supervision and regulation of products. Second, it scientifically raises the requirements for energy-efficiency indicators. By setting category-specific benchmarks based on product characteristics and application scenarios, it further increases the technical requirements for level-2 energy-saving products on the basis of moderately raising the entry threshold for level-3 energy efficiency. It also increases the differentiation of high-energy-efficiency products. At the same time, it provides energy-efficiency adjustments for high-end product types such as high color rendering, glare reduction, and intelligent control. It aims to save energy while ensuring good lighting quality. Third, it reasonably optimizes the relevant performance indicators. It adds standby energy-consumption requirements to reduce the “invisible” energy waste of products in non-operating states, and promotes lighting energy saving from “operational energy efficiency” to “all-time energy efficiency.” The new national standard is grounded in the development of China’s lighting industry and market, and also draws on international experience to update and upgrade. It will strongly promote high-quality development of the lighting industry and a green, low-carbon transition. (CCTV News)
