On March 27, Xinhua News Agency reported from Tehran that the Iranian Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps announced that on the same day, they turned back three container ships attempting to pass through the Strait of Hormuz.

The announcement stated that U.S. President Trump falsely claimed that “the Strait of Hormuz is open,” and on that day, three container ships of different nationalities attempted to enter the designated channel for licensed vessels but turned back after receiving warnings from the Revolutionary Guard Navy.

The announcement noted that the Strait of Hormuz is now closed, prohibiting any vessels “coming from or going to” ports of U.S. and Israeli allies from passing through, and any attempt to cross the Strait of Hormuz without permission will face “severe measures.”

On the 26th, Trump stated that Iran allowed ten oil tankers to pass through the Strait of Hormuz as a “gift” to the United States. (End)
