Abstract generation in progress

White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt stated in a statement that the White House is discussing how to mitigate the impact of a Department of Homeland Security shutdown, but no preparatory work or plans have been developed at this time.

She stated: “The best and simplest way to pay Transportation Security Administration (TSA) personnel is to provide funding to the Department of Homeland Security.”

Note: U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement personnel have begun participating in airport passenger security screening due to TSA staffing shortages.
