According to reports, a key advisor to Iran’s Supreme Leader Khamenei is calling for missile strikes against US Navy vessels and the blockade of the vital oil transport route, the Strait of Hormuz. Hossein Shariatmadari, the editor-in-chief of Iran’s “World Newspaper,” warned: “After the US attacked the Fordow nuclear facility, it is now our turn to act.” As a prominent conservative voice, he had previously referred to himself as the “representative” of Supreme Leader Khamenei.

He stated: “As a first step, we must launch missile attacks on the U.S. Navy fleet stationed in Bahrain without hesitation or delay, while closing the Strait of Hormuz to ships from the United States, the United Kingdom, Germany, and France.” Currently, the Supreme Leader Khamenei has not made an official response regarding the U.S. attack on Iran’s nuclear facilities.
