Web3 investment expert falls victim to phishing attack through fake Zoom meeting, losing years of savings.

Mehdi Farooq, an investment partner at crypto venture capital firm Hypersphere, said that after a fake Zoom call phishing attack, six of his wallets were stolen and years of savings were lost. Mehdi Farooq revealed that the attack began with a message on the messaging platform from a contact he knew, who had previously interacted with each other, so the contact looked like a routine, who shared the meeting link, joined the scheduled Zoom meeting and found no audio, and shortly after running the update, his system was compromised, and the hacker "drained his savings for years" in just a few minutes
