Infineon Wins GaN Patent Case in Germany; InnoGaN Faces Sales Ban and Damages Award Today

According to Munich Regional Court (Landgericht München I), Infineon prevailed today (June 19) in its GaN (gallium nitride) patent infringement lawsuits against InnoGaN, securing a ruling that prohibits the latter from manufacturing, selling, or marketing infringing products in Germany and requires InnoGaN to pay damages to Infineon. The decision marks Infineon's third and fourth consecutive victories against InnoGaN in this patent dispute series.

The ruling follows a contrasting outcome in China, where the Supreme People's Court ruled last week that Infineon's GaN products infringed InnoGaN patents and ordered Infineon to pay InnoGaN 10 million yuan while prohibiting sales and imports in China. Additional proceedings involving both companies remain pending in the U.S. and Germany.
