AI coding startup Anysphere, supported by a16z, is negotiating a new round of financing with a valuation exceeding $18 billion.

Gate News bot message, the developer of the AI code editor Cursor, Anysphere, is in talks with investors for a new round of financing, with the company’s valuation expected to be between $18 billion and $20 billion.

Previously, Anysphere completed a round of financing of 900 million dollars earlier this month, with a valuation reaching 9.9 billion dollars.

This round of financing was led by Thrive Capital, with participation from Andreessen Horowitz (a16z), Accel, and DST Global.

The company has not confirmed whether it will seek additional financing and stated that it currently does not need cash.

Anysphere was launched in 2023 and has developed rapidly, with Cursor’s annual revenue exceeding $500 million. Companies such as OpenAI, Spotify, and Instacart use Cursor to improve programming efficiency through real-time code suggestions.
