Today, a few of my frens and I got into a topic—what exactly have we retail investors contributed to this industry?
As a result, everyone was making fun of themselves, saying "no contribution" and "just a background character." I really disagree with this.
Although our position is not high, the necessary roles still exist in reality.
🌟The most direct contribution: liquidity
I pondered for a moment, and one of our biggest values is actually injecting liquidity into the market. Without the base of retail investors, it would be difficult for large funds to enter and exit, who supports the depth of the order book? No matter how big the pie painted by the project party is, if no one takes it, it will just be in vain.
So don't underestimate yourself, retail investors are also an indispensable part of the ecosystem.

You're right, we are the blood of the market. Without liquidity, those Large Investors can do nothing.

It makes some sense, but we retail investors are really just destined to be played people for suckers, haha

To be honest, I've heard this argument many times. We retail investors are indeed the main suppliers of liquidity, but have you ever thought that this liquidity is essentially helping Large Investors play people for suckers? It's nicely put as "a part of the ecosystem," but let's be honest, it's just a trap set by them.

Liquidity is indeed key, but to be honest, the depth provided by retail investors is limited. Looking at the order book data over the past thirty days, most of the time it has been institutions playing, while we are just a supporting role. However, from the logic of the computing power network, participation itself is a kind of voting right, right?
