According to Beating Monitoring, during the Berkshire Hathaway shareholders meeting, CEO Abel discussed the development prospects of the energy business segment, pointing out that with the rapid growth of the artificial intelligence industry, the energy sector is迎来 a new growth opportunity. Currently, half of Berkshire’s energy companies have begun to undertake AI-related electricity demand and are continuously tracking industry trends and the practical space for business implementation. Taking Iowa as an example, the company’s utility service scope has significantly expanded, with four super-large data centers built locally, bringing a large number of new electricity customers to the region. Currently, data center electricity use accounts for 8% of the region’s peak load, which is a very high proportion in the utility field; this means that the electricity demand driven by the construction of computing infrastructure still has huge growth potential. The company expects that in the next five years, the proportion of data center electricity use could increase by another 5 to 10 percentage points, and in the long term, it may even reach 50%, at which point it will become the most potential growth curve in the energy business.
