Powell: Dissenters from the easing stance are not inclined to raise interest rates

BlockBeats News, April 30 — Federal Reserve Chairman Jerome Powell stated at a press conference that although during the most recent monetary policy meeting some members voted against maintaining an accommodative stance in the statement, he believes that officials are not inclined to raise interest rates.

Powell said: “People are not saying that we need to raise rates now; it’s more about discussing whether the Federal Reserve should maintain a neutral stance on policy outlook.” (Jin10)
