Golden Finance reported that Penpie, a Decentralized Finance (DeFi) protocol built on the tokenization yield platform Pendle, was attacked by hackers on Wednesday. Blockchain data shows that the hackers have stolen approximately 27 million US dollars worth of encrypted assets from the protocol, including various types of staked Ether (stakeETH), sUSDE from Ethena, and wrapped USDC stablecoins. Pendle confirmed that a security vulnerability has been found in the Penpie protocol and will maintain close communication with the team. Pendle also added that investors' funds are safe on Pendle, but as a precautionary measure, all contracts have been temporarily suspended. Data shows that after the attack, Penpie (PNP) experienced a 40% big dump. Pendle (PENDLE) has dropped nearly 8% in the past 24 hours.
