$GOAT is an AI Meme, but AI has now gone far beyond just being a Meme. Various types of projects in the AI sector are emerging rapidly. This article will provide a detailed classification of the AI sector and highlight key projects to help you gain a comprehensive understanding of its development.

Firstly, as AI is currently trending most in the Solana and Base ecosystems, we’ve categorized AI-related projects as follows:

Layer1s: These projects aren’t the traditional Layer1s we usually discuss but exhibit “Layer1-like” properties. Third parties can build on their frameworks to develop applications like Agents or Launchpads. Examples include ai16z, zerebro, and EMP.

AI Launchpads: These platforms or tools facilitate asset issuance. In Solana, the main projects include VVAIFU, HAT, and ALCH, while on Base, notable examples are Virtuals, Clanker, and Higherrrrrrr (with future AI integrations).

AI Agents: This category mainly refers to application-focused AI projects. These are abundant, and most AI projects people talk about fall into this category. The current trend shows a surge in AI Agents, as creating a chatbot has become relatively easy. Some of the more popular projects include DEGENAI, BULLY, AIXBT, LUNA, ACT, and AVA.

AI Meme Tokens: These are purely Meme tokens with AI-related themes. Examples include GOAT, Fartcoin, CHAOS, ANON, and others.

What the hell is this? The last category comprises projects that are somewhat difficult to understand but are AI-related and have garnered some attention. For instance, TSOTCHKE falls into this category for now.

AI Layer1/Framework

ai16z：

First, ai16z is not an AI project itself but rather a DAO fund focused on AI. The concept behind it is that Marc Andreessen of a16z is a highly successful crypto investor, and an AI version of Marc AIdreessen could potentially perform even better in investments. This organization has developed a framework called Eliza, which also sparked the debate over the capitalization of ELIZA/eliza in Meme tokens, which we won’t delve into here.

Eliza is a powerful multi-agent simulation framework designed for creating, deploying, and managing autonomous AI agents. It provides a flexible and scalable platform for developing intelligent agents capable of interacting across multiple platforms while maintaining consistent personality and knowledge.

Eliza is not limited to Solana; it has already expanded to Base, Aptos, and will further extend to blockchains like Near and Avalanche in the future.

The project’s open-source GitHub repository has garnered significant attention from renowned developers in the industry, with its forks and stars frequently ranking in GitHub’s top 3 recently.

They have also launched a new website and introduced ElizaOS, an open-source protocol supporting autonomous AI agents like Eliza and serving as the foundation for ai16z.

Finally, it’s worth noting that 5% of the tokens from any AI project developed on Eliza are allocated to the ai16z DAO fund. This is one of the key reasons many are bullish on $AI16Z.

zerebro：

First, we need to briefly understand what AGI is. This concept is being mentioned more frequently and is the vision that zerebro and ai16z’s Shaw aim to achieve.

Simply put, most of the AI Agents we see today fall under ANI (Artificial Narrow Intelligence), which is limited in capability and scope. Examples include Siri, AlphaGo, and ChatGPT. These are relatively simple and specialized.

However, the potential of AGI remains theoretical at present, and the closed-source approach of many large corporations has further hindered its development. Zerebro aims to serve as a bridge, overcoming this limitation by “liberalizing” its large language model and fine-tuning it with unconventional datasets to unlock the model’s potential capabilities.

Zerebro incorporates diverse data sources, including conversations from Truth Terminal, Gen Z slang, and scraped content from platforms like Reddit, 4chan, and Twitter. This diversified training corpus allows the model to break through traditional constraints, generating unique and context-rich outputs, paving the way for AGI.

This is the core philosophy of Zerebro: freebasing AI. Zerebro has already demonstrated its training results and cross-platform capabilities. It has autonomously launched a token on Solana with a market cap exceeding $400 million, attracted over 30,000 followers across Telegram, Warpcast, X, and Instagram, released an album titled Genesis with over 20,000 plays on Spotify, and partnered with Sanctum to launch ZerebroSOL, an LSD token.

One of their innovative tools is SimulacrumIO, which allows users to create and deploy AI agents to perform complex on-chain tasks via simple commands on social media platforms like 𝕏. Details about its functionality will be discussed later.

Empyreal’s token, “$EMP,” has a unique mechanism: when tokens are created using Simulacrum, 50% of the transaction fees go to the creator’s wallet, and the remaining 50% is distributed to $EMP holders. This is the primary reason many are bullish on $EMP, and it underscores the importance of monitoring Simulacrum’s platform revenue.

There isn’t much to elaborate on regarding projects in this field; their main function is simple: helping you issue assets. Below is a table presenting some of the relatively popular projects in this space.

AI Agent

AIXBT

The most popular Meme on Base, without a doubt. It consistently ranks in the top three of AI Agent mindshare almost every day, with a current market cap of around $200 million.

AIXBT was also launched on Virtuals’ AI Agent platform. When you search on Twitter, you’ll likely see many responses from AIXBT. Its core function is to track hot discussions in the crypto Twitter space and use its proprietary engine to identify trending narratives. AIXBT token holders can access its analytics platform.

In short, AIXBT is an AI agent that aggregates hot crypto information, and you can think of it as a “KOL of KOLs” for providing more valuable insights. The market generally views AIXBT’s market information as timely. Research has shown that out of 210 tokens recommended by AIXBT, 183 have been profitable after the recommendation, with a success rate of 83%. Of course, this might also be tied to the bullish market conditions.

The entire ai16z team actually has only two official tokens: $AI16Z and $DEGENAI.

According to the official description, DEGENAI will be a bot that provides alpha information on Twitter and will also use this information for trading.

In simple terms, you can think of DEGENAI as a version of AIXBT on Solana, but with trading capabilities.

Another feature of DEGENAI is that 8% of the profits from the ai16z fund will be used to buy back $DEGENAI, making these two tokens complementary.
