Sales initially progressed slowly due to strict KYC requirements and a $2,500 per-user cap, which created significant obstacles. Most people on the Polymarket platform expected sales to fall in the range of $2 million to $3 million. However, the situation subsequently reversed: the probability of achieving higher targets suddenly surged, with the probability of the $5 million tier jumping from approximately 20% to approximately 70%. Simultaneously, a large number of orders began flowing toward the $3 million, $5 million, and even $10 million targets. All three wallets were newly opened accounts from 1 day prior, they had relatively similar betting proportions when betting on the $5 million target pool, and all reduced margin on higher targets to maximize profits.
