Kejadian mendadak di Timur Tengah! Raksasa aluminium global diserang! Iran bersikap tegas!
Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) issued a statement on the 29th, saying that the Revolutionary Guard effectively struck aluminum plants in the UAE and Bahrain associated with the United States using missiles and drones.
The statement said that these two aluminum plants are related to the US military and aerospace industry, namely the plant of Emirates Global Aluminium and the plant of Bahrain Aluminium. The statement also mentioned that Iran’s response to enemy threats will no longer be just reciprocal strikes but will deliver “more lethal blows” to the enemy’s military and economic systems.
Late Saturday night, Emirates Global Aluminium (EGA) announced that earlier that day, its Tawiilah production facility located in Abu Dhabi’s Khalifa Economic Zone was attacked by Iranian missiles and drones, suffering severe damage.
Emirates Global Aluminium is one of the largest aluminum producers in the Middle East and a significant supplier to the global market. The Middle East accounts for about 9% of the global aluminum market share (8% if excluding Iran). The aluminum production capacity of Emirates Global Aluminium directly accounts for 4% of global capacity: the company’s website shows that for every 25 tons of aluminum produced globally, 1 ton comes from Emirates Global Aluminium.
Emirates Global Aluminium stated that several employees were injured in the attack, and all the injured are not in life-threatening condition. An assessment of the damage to the facilities is still ongoing.
